(d) PROGRAM DIRECTION. —Subject to subsection (j), funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy for fiscal year 1997 for program direction in carrying out environmental restoration and waste management activities necessary for national security programs in the amount of $411,511,000. (e) TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT.— Subject to subsection (j), funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy for fiscal year 1997 for technology development in carry- ing out environmental restoration and waste management activities necessary for national security programs in the amount of $303,771,000. (0 POLICY AND MANAGEMENT.— Subject to subsection (j), funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy for fiscal year 1997 for policy and management in carrying out environmental restoration and waste management activities necessary for national security programs in the amount of $23,155,000. (g) ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE PROGRAM. —Subject to subsection (j), funds are hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of Energy for fiscal year 1997 for the environmental science program in carrying out environmental restoration and waste management activities necessary for national security programs in the amount of $62,136,000.
