(2) AMOUNT OF FUNDS.— The total amount utilized by each of the States under subsection (a) during the period referred to in such subsection shall not exceed the total amount of such assistance that, notwithstanding the enactment of this section, would otherwise have been expended by each such State in the affected region during such period, (d) PRIORITY. —In making assistance available under this section, the Governors described in subsection (a) shall give priority to eligible individuals who do not have access to income, assets, or resources as a direct result of the flooding referred to in subsection (b)(2)(A). EXTENSION OF SSI REDETERMINATION PROVISIONS SEC. 6005. (a) Section 402(a)(2)(D)(i) of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (8 U.S.C. 1612(a)(2)(D)(i)) is amended— (1) in subclause (I), by striking "the date which is 1 year after such date of enactment," and inserting "September 30, 1997,"; and (2) in subclause (III), by striking "the date of the redetermination with respect to such individual" and inserting "September 30, 1997,". (b) The amendment made by subsection (a) shall be effective as if included in the enactment of section 402 of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996.
