Effective date. (b) PUBLIC LAW 105-261.— Effective as of October 17, 1998, and as if included therein as enacted, the Strom Thurmond National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1999 (Public Law 105- 261; 112 Stat. 1920 et seq.) is amended as follows: 10 USC 691. (1) Section 402(b) (112 Stat. 1996) is amended by striking the third comma in the first quoted matter and inserting a period. (2) Section 511(b)(2) (112 Stat. 2007) is amended by striking "section 1411" and inserting "section 1402". 10 USC 1370.
