JAN. 31, 1855. 943 Now, therefore, be it known that I, JAMES BUCHANAN, President proclamation, of the United States of America, do, in pufsuance of the wdvioe and April 18, 1869. consent of the Senate as expressed in their resolution of March eighth, eighteen hundred and Httymine, hereby accept, ratify, and confirm the said treaty. In testimony whereod I have mused the seal of the United States to be hereto aiiixed, having signed the same with my hand. Done at the city of Washington, this eighteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty- [snn.] nine, and of the independence of the United States the eighty-third.
