SEC. 1101. COMPENSATION OF BOARD AND OFFICERS OF THE OFFICE OF COMPLIANCE. (a) MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.—Section 301(g) of the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 (2 U.S.C. 1381(g)) is amended by striking paragraph (1) and inserting the following: ‘‘(1) PER DIEM.— ‘‘(A) RATE OF COMPENSATION FOR EACH DAY.—Each member of the Board shall be compensated, for each day (including travel time) during which such member is engaged in the performance of the duties of the Board, at a rate equal to the daily equivalent of the lesser of— ‘‘(i) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the Senate; or ‘‘(ii) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the House of Representatives. ‘‘(B) AUTHORITY TO PRORATE.—The rate of pay of a member may be prorated based on the portion of the day during which the member is engaged in the performance of Board duties.’’. (b) OFFICERS.—Section 302 of the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995 (2 U.S.C. 1382) is amended— (1) in subsection (a), by striking paragraph (2) and inserting the following: ‘‘(2) COMPENSATION.— ‘‘(A) AUTHORITY TO FIX COMPENSATION.—The Chair may fix the compensation of the Executive Director. ‘‘(B) LIMITATION.—The rate of pay for the Executive Director may not exceed the lesser of— ‘‘(i) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the Senate; or ‘‘(ii) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the House of Representatives.’’; (2) in subsection (b), by striking paragraph (3) and inserting the following: ‘‘(3) COMPENSATION.— ‘‘(A) AUTHORITY TO FIX COMPENSATION.—The Chair may fix the compensation of the Deputy Executive Directors. ‘‘(B) LIMITATION.—The rate of pay for a Deputy Executive Director may not exceed 96 percent of the lesser of— ‘‘(i) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the Senate; or ‘‘(ii) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the House of Representatives.’’; (3) in subsection (c), by striking paragraph (2) and inserting the following: ‘‘(2) COMPENSATION.— ‘‘(A) AUTHORITY TO FIX COMPENSATION.—The Chair may fix the compensation of the General Counsel. ‘‘(B) LIMITATION.—The rate of pay for the General Counsel may not exceed the lesser of— ‘‘(i) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the Senate; or ‘‘(ii) the highest annual rate of compensation of any officer of the House of Representatives.’’; and
