(c) A P PLICABILIT Y TO 2006 – 200 7G RAD U ATES.— P aragraph ( 4 ) of section 2163(b) of title 10 ,U nited States Code, as added by subsection (a) of this section, applies with respect to any person who becomes a graduate of the N ational D efense Uni v ersity on or after September 6, 2006, and fulfills the re q uirements of the program referred to in such paragraph (4). SEC.527 . AUTHORI T Y O F THE AIR U N I V ERSITY TO CONFER D E G REE OF M ASTER OF SCIENCE IN F L IGHT TEST ENGINEERING. Section 9 317(a) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) by redesignating paragraph (4) as paragraph ( 5 )

and (2) by inserting after paragraph (3) the following new para- graph: ‘ ‘(4) The degree of master of science in flight test engineering upon graduates of the Air F orce Test Pilot School who fulfill the requirements for that degree in a manner con- sistent with the recommendations of the Department of E du- cation and the principles of the regional accrediting body for the Air University. ’ ’. SEC. 52 8 . ENHANCEMENT OF EDUCATION B ENEFITS FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS OF RESERVE COM P ONENTS. (a) ACCELERATED PAYMENT OF EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR M EMBERS OF THE SELECTED R ESER V E.— (1) I N GENERAL.—Chapter 1606 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 16131 the following new section: ‘‘§ 16131a. Ac celerated payment of ed u cational assistance ‘‘(a) The educational assistance allowance payable under section 16131 of this title with respect to an eligible person described in subsection (b) may, upon the election of such eligible person, be paid on an accelerated basis in accordance with this section. ‘‘(b) An eligible person described in this subsection is a person entitled to educational assistance under this chapter who is— ‘‘(1) enrolled in an approved program of education not e x ceeding two years in duration and not leading to an associate, bachelors, masters, or other degree, sub j ect to subsection (g); and ‘‘(2) charged tuition and fees for the program of education that, when divided by the number of months (and fractions thereof) in the enrollment period, exceeds the amount equal to 200 percent of the monthly rate of educational assistance allowance otherwise payable with respect to the person under section 16131 of this title. 10USC2 1 63note.
