LIIl;—An Act to amend an Act entitled "An Act for the Relief of the Inhabi· June 8, 1868. tant: of Cuties and Towns upon the public Land:," approved March two, eighteen hun- dred and surty-sewn. Vol. xiv. p. 541. HA]?. .—An Act to urther rcvide or {vin E act to the various Grants o_ public 3 55:, C LV f Lands lo thejgtdze qf%Vs`{da. fp `Ju'? e"";', 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and fkusc of Representatives fthe United States of America in Congress assemliled, That the State of Nevada is Selection of authorized to select the alternate even-numbered sections within the 1;’£&’Xd§i_°;a,,_ limits of any railroad grant in said State, in satisfaction, in whole or in youd gyms, by part, of the several grants made in thefollowing acts of Congress, to wit: C<>¤s¤·¤¤¤L the act organizing the Territory of Nevada, passed March second, \}£?Q§i_'p?%0_ eighteen hundred and sixty-one; the act admitting the State of Nevada 1866, eh. 166. into the Union, passed March twenty-one, eighteen hundred and sixty- V°l·X“'·P· 85· four; and the act concerning certain lands granted to Nevada, passed P ti July fourth, eighteen hundred and sixty-six : Provided, That this privilege ,md*:;¤'€Eu:$_ shall not extend to lands upon which there may be rightful claims under Land taken the pre-emption and homestead laws: And provided, That if lands be “:_i‘;:‘::,!‘;“:%° selected, the minimum price of which is two dollars and fifty cents per gs,-,w,·,,¤,Qq¤,_; acre, each acre so selected shall be taken by the State in satisfaction of WTO MM Mt two acres, the minimum price of which is one dollar and twenty-five cents $1‘z5P°"’°'°' per acre: And provided further, That the lands granted in the eighth and _ Certain selecninth sections of the said act admitting Nevada into the Union shall be ;;’;"h°¤ *° W selected within four years from the passage of this act, and the period for ' the selection of said lands is hereby so extended.
