Duplicate orders shallonly be issued by the postal administration of the Duplicate orwuntry on which the original orders were drawn, and in conformity with dmthe regulations established or to be established in that country. Amicus XII. At the close of each quarter three copies of an account shall be prepared »’*·¢¤<>¤¤*¤ beand transmitted by the office at London, exhibiting the balance found due ;:::;£;§,°;f;_ on the exchanges of orders during the quarter ; which balance, after proper verification, shall, if due by the United States office, be paid at London; but if due by the British office, it shall be paid at New York, and always in the money of the country to which the payment is made. If, pending the settlement of an account, one of the two postal administrations shall ascertain that it owes the other a balance exceeding one thousand pounds sterling, the indebted administration shall promptly remit the approximate amount of such balance to the credit of the other.
