Amended Convention between the Post Office Department of the United June 4: 1880- States of America and the Post Ojiee Department of the Dominion of Oanada, for amending the system of exchange of money orders, concluded Mwy 29, 1880, and Mine 4., 1880. Contraotiugpar- The Post Office Department of the United States of America, and the ms- Post Office Department of the Dominion of Canada, being desirous of amending the system of exchange of Money Orders between the two P"°““‘b1°‘ countries, the undersigned, duly authorized for that purpose, have agreed upon the following Articles amending the existing Convention. · A1zrrcr.n 1. Scope. The transfer of sums of money may be made by means of postal money orders from the Dominion of Canada to the United States, and from the United States to the Dominion of Canada. Anrrcnn 2. Mo¤oy—ord¤r¤- 1. The money orders issued in the Dominion of Canada for payment Eb°5‘““ P"' in the United States, shall conform, as nearly as practicable, to model sm 9“A”, hereto annexed, and the money orders issued in the United States for payment in the Dominion of Canada, shall in the same manner, conform to model “B", also hereto annexed. 3. The Hlling up of the order, in writing, must be in the English language, and in Roman letters and Arabic numerals, without alteration or obliteration, and the name of the Exchange Office through which the advice is forwarded for certiiieation must be stated thereon. Maximum limit 4. The maximum amount of each order is fixed at Fifty dollars. $50- 5. No order shall contain a fraction of a cent. Limit may bein- 6. The service of the Postal Money-Order system between the two countries shall be performed exclusively through the agency of one or more orlices of Exchange, and, for this purpose, each Postal Administration is authorized to establish or to abolish offices of Exchange within its own jurisdiction, but in either ease due notice of such action must previously be given to the other Administration.
