Cypress Bayou: The Secretary of War is hereby directed to cause a resurvey of the work of improvement of the navigation of Cypress Bayou and the lakes between Jeiferson, in Texas, and Shreveport, in Louisana, in order to ascertain if the necessary improvement cannot be made upon some other plan than building a dam across the Albany Flats, as recommended by the engineer; and for this purpose he is hereby authorized and directed to expend so much of the unexpended balance of appropriations to the credit of said work as may be necessary. p VERMONT.
