For the public printing, for the public binding, and for paper for the Public printing, public printing, including the cost of printing the debates and proceed- bindirmi P¤P¢f· ings of Congress in the Congressional Record, and for lithographing, °“d ‘“““’“‘l°· mapping, and engraving for both Houses of Congress, the Supreme Court of the United States, the supreme court of the District of Columbia, the Court of Claims, the Library of Congress, and the Departments, including salaries or compensation of all necessary clerks and employees, for labor (by the day, piece, or contract), and for all the necessary materials which may be needed in the prosecution of the work, two million wo hundred and nfty thousand dollars; and from the said sum hereby appropriated printing and binding may he done by the Public Printer to the amounts following, respectively, namely: For printing and binding for Congress, including the proceedings and Distr-ib ution debates, one million two hundred and nfteen thousand five hundred and MD °¤ 8 D°P¤'*>· sixty-two dollars and nfty cents; for the State Department, nine thou- “‘°“°°‘ sand four hundred and nfty dollars; for the Treasury Department, two hundred and sixty-four thousand one hundred and nfty dollars; for the War Department, one hundred and thirty-eight thousand six hundred dollars of (which sum twelve thousand dollars shall be for the catalogue of the library of the Surgeon-Generals Onice); for the Navy Department, fifty-nine thousand nve hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents · for the Interior Department, three hundred and twenty-nine thousand tour hundred dollars (of which sum ten thousand dollars is appropriated for rebinding tract-books for the General Land Officel; for the Department of Justice, seven thousand and eighty-seven dollars and fifty cents; for the Post-Onice Department, one hundred and seventy-eight thousand three hundred and twelve dollars and nfty cents; for the Agricultural Department, seventeen thousand six hundred and sixty-two dollars and fifty cents, lor the Supreme Court of the United States, seven thousand three hundred and twelve dollars and nfty cents; for the supreme court of the District of Columbia, nine hundred dollars; for the Court of Claims, eleven thousand eight hundred and twelve dollars and fifty cents; and for the Library of Congress, ten thousand two hundred and thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents, And no more than an allotment of one-half of the sum hereby appropriated shall be expended in the two nrst quarters of the fiscal year, and no more than one-fourth thereof may be expended in either of the two last quarters of the fiscal year, except that in addition thereto, in either of said last quarters, the unexpended balances of allotmeuts for preceding quarters may be expended.
