BXICO. it- Be it enacted by the Senatmmd House of Representatives of the United States ofA·merica in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treas- S =¤ ¤ t ¤· _ F 6,_ N- ury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to complete the public Mm P“bh° "“‘m‘ building already partly erected at the city of Santa Fé, in the Territory luffjommctiou of of New Mexico, for the use and accommodation of the United States :mt1¤ox·ized. ' district court, surveyor-general, collector of internal revenue, and for other Government uses at the said city of Santa Fé, at u. cost not exceeding the sum of fifty-two thousand one hundred and forty-eight dollars; and no plan for the completion of the said building, uor contract or expenditure in connection therewith, shall be approved by the Secretary of the Treasury involving any further expenditure than the sum hereinabove ixed as the limit of cost for the completion of the said Limit. building. The site and building thereon, when completed upon plans mad, specifications to be previously made and approved by the Secxw-terry of the P]¤¤¤, *‘*¤· Treasury, shall not exceed in cost the sum of fifty-thousand dollars; nor shall any site be purchased until estimates for the erection of a Emmaus. building which will furnish suiicient accommodations for the transaction of the public business, and which shall not exceed in east. the balance of the sum herein limited after the site shall have been purchased aud paid for, shall have been approved by the Secretary of the Treasury; and no purchase of site, nor plan for said building, shall L. .t be approved by the Secretary of the Treasury involving an expend- mm ' iture exceeding the said sum of fifty thousand dollars for site and building; and the site purchased shall leave the building unexposed to danger from fire by an open space of at least forty feet, including OW, _,I,,,_,,e_ streets and alleys: Provided That 110 port of said sum shall be expended P,,,,,;,, until a valid title to the said site shall be vested in the United States, Time nor xintil the State of Texas shall cede to the United States exclusive jurisdiction over the same, during the time the United States shell be or remain the owner thereof, for all purposes except the administration of the criminal laws of said State, and the service of civil pro cess therein.
