I`245 · CHAP. 1236.-An act to amend the naval record of Nickolas Leuschen, Peter 0<=¤>b¢r19, 1888- Leuschen, and Loth Possum. *Y_—_‘—_‘ _ Whereas, Nicholas Leuschen, Peter Leuschen, and Loth Possum, rmambie. citizens of the United States and residents of Erie, Penns lvania, ‘ did, on the thirtieth day of July, anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixty-four, enlist at Erie, Pennsylvania, as volunteers in the United States Navy for three years or during the war; and Whereas, they were taken to Buffalo, in the State of New York, and there, without their knowled e or consent, sold as substitutes, so that their names now appear on the records of the Bureau of Equi ment and Recruiting as substitutes, credited as such to the Thirtieth Congressional district, in the State of New York, instead of as volunteers rom the twenty-seventh Congressional district, in the State of Pennsylvania ; and _ Whereas they were honorably discharged at the expiration of their three years of service: Therefore, Be tt enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary num records ot of Navy be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the §§§§{"“,fc,';s§,§‘g‘u°”,f,{‘d · names of Nickolas Leuschen, Peter Leuschen, and Loth Possum to Mrk Pvssum. ’ be entered on the appropriate records of the Navy Department as volunteers, enlisted in the United States Navy July thirtieth, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, at Erie, Pennsylvania, and to cause them to be credited to the Twenty-seventh Congressional district of the State of Pennsylvania. Sec. 2. That they are hereby restored to the standing and to all the mm as v¤l~ rights, privileges, advantages, immunities, and emo uments, past, present, and rospective, now enjoyed or to be hereafter enjoyed-by volunteer soldiers and sailors of the United States. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, (two—thirds of each House concurring therein), That Theodore Lewis, of the State of }",f;gQ;jg{°d§j8‘{;§j,,,es Louisiana, is hereby relieved of all political disabilities imposed ¤~em¤»·e1. upon him by the third section of the Fourteenth Amendment to the· Constitution of the United States.
