Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re esentatives of the United States of America in Congress assembledé)?. That the Iowa and wwe ml Decatur- Decatur Bridge Company, a corporation organized under the laws 52353 ;%?S’§`§’.§’,'}yR'{I,’{,’[. of the State of Iowa, its successors and assigns, be, and they are {;°m”:;*;:1¤g·2¤:Y· herepg, authorized to construct and maintain a railroad bridge over Ndiif uu y’ the issouri River from and through section numbered seven, in township numbered eighty-three nort of range forty-six west of the principa meridian, in the county of Monona, State of Iowa, and in and through the county of Burt, in the State of Nebraska. SEO. 2. That the structure herein authorized shall be built and B Qgrw located under and subject to such regulations for the securitv of the ppm P ’ ‘ navigation of said river as the Secretary of War shall prescribe; and to secure that object the said company or corporation shall submit to the Secretar of War for his examination and approval a design and drawing ofy the bridge and a map of the location, giving, for the s iace of one mile above and one m1 e below the proposed ocation, the topography of the banks of the river. the shore-l1ne at high and low water, the direction and strength of the current at all stages and the soundings. accurately showing the bed of the stream, the _ location of any other bridge or bridges, and shall furnish such other infor1nation,as shall be required for a full and satisfactory under- · standing of the subject: and until the said plan and location of the Location,etc. bridge are approved by the Secretary of \Var, the bridge shall not be commenced or built; and should any change be made in the plan of said bridge during the pro ress of construction. such change shall changes. be subject to the approval of the Secretary of War; and the said bridge shall be constructed with such aids to the passage of said iuusmumgsues. bridge, in the form of booms,' dikes, piers, or other suitable and proper structures for confining theflow of water to a permanent and easi y navigated channel for a distance of not less than one mile
