- struct an addition to the public bu' ding in the city of Houston, in the State of Texas, by having such part of said bui ding that is now one story in height raised to two stories in height, and for this pur- Avv¤>r¤¤i<>¤¤- pose the sum of fifteen thousand dollars is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the same to be used in the construction of said addition and providinfg necessary heating apparatus, cistern, and so`forth. Be it enacted bi; the &rmte and Home of Representatives of the mwxfi United States of merrca, rn Congress assembled, That the Postmasggmmaeut me ter·General may aplpoint, and assign to duty, one assistant general my "’ b' "" superintendent, Ra' way Mail Service, who shall be paid a sa ary of 8***- three thousand dollars r year; and one chief clerk of Railway Mail Service, to be employed6in the Post·Office Department, who shall be paid two thousan dollars per year; said assistant general superintendent and chief clerk to be also paid their necessary and actual Ern¤¤¤¤¤- eilpenses while traveling on the business of the Department.
