Morris, late a brevet major-general of volunteers in the Army of the United States, at the rate of seventy- nve dollars per month, in lieu of the pension which he is now receiving. Whereas Hannah Newell Barrett, a resident of the city of Boston, State of Massachusetts, is the oldest surviving daughter of Noah Harrod, late a soldier of the Revolution, she having been born at Lunnenburg, State of Massachusetts, the thirteenth day of May, eighteen hundred, being therefore in her ninety-sixth year; and Whereas from injuries received she is practically in a helpless condition physically, and is dependent entirely upon the charity of friends: Therefore Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United m*{_*¤¤*'*N°'°“B•’· States of America, in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the retest. Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place upon the pension roll the name of Hannah Newell Barrett, eldest daughter of Noah Harrod, late a soldier in Colonel Shephard’s regiment and Captain Webb’s company of Massachusetts troops in the war of the Revolution, and pay her a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month nom and after the passage of this Act. Enochs, late lieutenant-colonel of the Fifth Regiment of West Virginia Volunteer Infantry and brevet brigadiergeneral, United States Volunteers, be, and the same is hereby, increased from twenty dollars per month to fifty dollars per month, and the Secretary of the Interior be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to place her name on the pension roll at the rate of fifty dollars per month, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws.
