CHAP. 379.-An Act Appointing commissioners to revise the statutes relating to June 4, 1898, patents, trade and other marks, and trade and commercial names. w"*"“““‘"“ Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President, with the mfr;;g*c‘°· "°‘°· advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint three commissioners, to communes a_ rs serve without compensation, whose duty it shall be to revise and amend ""° ‘“"" °°"°°'"""*· the laws of the United States concerning patents, trade and other marks, and trade or commercial names, which shall bein force at the time such commission shall make its tlnal report, so far as the same relates to matters contained in or aifected by the Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property concluded at Paris March twentieth, eighteen hundred and eighty-three, the agreements under said Convention concluded V<>¤· 21 1-- °¤¤- at·Madrid April fourteenth, eighteen hundred and ninety-one, and the _ protocols adopted by the conterence held under such Convention at Brussels, eighteen hundred and ninety-seven, and the treaties of the United States, and the laws of other nations relating to patents, trade and other marks, and trade or commercial names. That they shall report to Congress as soon as possible. R°P°"· That the report shall be so made as to indicate any proposed change ··"b“* *° °°”*‘**"· in the substance of existing law, and shall be accompanied by notes ' which shall briefly and clearly state the reasons for any proposed change. It shall also be accompanied by references to such treaties and foreign laws relating to patents, trade and other marks, and trade or commercial names, as, in the opinion of the commissioners, may affect citizens of the United States.
