Brown, widow of Benjamin F. Brown, late of Captain Crouch’s company, First Tennessee Mounted Volunteers, Indian war, and pay her a pension at the rate of twenty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving. Shipley, late captain and assistant quartermaster, United States Army, and pay him a pension at the rate of forty dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, May 12, 1900. I, Thirty-first Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and pay him a pension at the rate of twenty-four dollars per month in lieu of that he is now receiving. Approved, May 12, 1900.

W CHAP. 470.--An Act For the relief of \V. H. L. Pepperell, of Concordia, Kansas.

Be tt enacted by the Senate and [{0use of Rry>resentattces 0 f the United §,é§;,L;§€§§§;‘§k,S States of America in Ocngress assembled, That the Postmaster-General of. etc. be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause the accounts of W. H. L. Pepperell, late postmaster at Concordia, State of Kansas, to be credite with the sum of one thousand five hundred and forty- five dollars, and that he cause said credit to be certified to the Auditor of the Treasury for the Post-OfHce Department, being on account of the loss of one thousand three hundred and forty-tive dollars in postage stamps and two hundred dollars in postal funds stolen from said postoffice on August twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, it appearing that said loss was without fault or negligence on the part of said late postmaster; and the said sum of one thousand five hundred and forty-five dollars is hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay said claim.
