Be it enacted by the Senate and [[0nse of Regresentatices of the Zhited ‘I§g’il’;’;f1§:gi°kl¤""· States of America in Ocngress assembled, That the Secretary of the YTreasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Corinne Strickland, widow of the. late Jesse H. Strickland, the amount of two thousand eight hundred and sixty-five dollars and eighty-one cents, as pay and allowances for the services of Jesse H. Strickland as colonel of the Ei hth Tennessee Cavalry from January thirtieth, anno Domini eighteen gundred and sixty-three. to April iirst, anno Domini eighteen hundred and sixty-four. ` Approved, May 25, 1900. Mw 25, 1900.. CHAP. 559.—·An Act Granting a pension to Lucy D. Young. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of ltvlefresentatices of the Zbzited I,;§,§g,£, Y°““g· States of America in Congress assembled, at the Secretary of the ' Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension roll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension aws, the name of Lucy D. Young, foster mother of W. Harlan Young, late of Company I, First Illinois Infantry Volunteers, war with Spain, and ay her a ension at the rate of twelve dollars per month: Provided}? That in tibe event of the filing of an application for pension by the father of the deceased soldier, this pension shall be sus ended pending the settlement of the said ap lication, and if the fatliler is ranted a pension the allowance to the ijoster mother under this Act glial] cease and terminate from the date of such suspension; iotherwise payment of this pension shall be resumed from the date of such suspension, and shall continue in full force and effect. 0 Approved, May 25, 1900. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Rrigresentatires of the United §Q§,;§g H°"iS· States of America in Ocngress assembled, at the Secretary of the ` Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place upon the ension roll, subject to the irovisions and limitations of the pension litws, the name of Edward lHarris, who was wounded while assisting the United States marshal and a detachment of United States troops in an engagement with Bear Island Indians, Minnesota, October iift , eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, and pay him a pension at the rate of twelve dollars per month. Tliat the Secretary of the ` Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to place on the pension 1'Oll, subject to the provisions and limitations of the pension laws, the name of Mary B. Dou lass, widow of the late Colonel Henry Douglass, of the Tenth United States Infantry. and pay her a pension at the rate of forty dollars per month in lieu of that she is now receiving. - Approved, May 25, 1900.
