Be it enacted by the Senate and %use ofR•¥1resentatives of the United k,C“‘“““ C’°°k· Mw States of America in Congress assembled, That the Union Pioneer Union Pioneer Min· Mining and Trading Company, a corporation created and existing ?.ii;iIi¤i¤1§riJ`;iti1gs?°m` under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California, be, and it is hereby, authorized to construct and maintain a bridge across the L°°*"‘°"· Catalla (meek, in the district of Alaska, to be located at such point Ygiizen wd f¤<>i as shall be approved by the Secretary of War. Said bridge may be bn g°` used for the passage of wagons and vehicles of all kinds, and for the T¤¤- transit of animals, and for foot passengers, for such reasonable rates ‘ of toll as may be fixed by said company and approved by the Secre— tary of War. That the bridge authorized to be constructed inder this Act ’shall be located and built under and subject to such regulations for the security of the navigation of said creek as the Secretary of War shall prescribe; and to secure that object the said corporation shall submit to the Secretar of War, for his examination and approval, a design and drawings ofy the proposed bridge, and shall furnish such other information as may be required for a full and satisfactory understanding of the subject; and until the said plan and location of the bridge are approved y the Secretary of lVar, no work upon the bridge shall be commenced; and should any change be made in the plan of said bridge during, the progress of construction, or after completion, such changes. change shall e subject to the approval of the Secretary of War; and any changes in said bridge which the Secretary of \V~ar may at any time deem necessary and order in the interests of navigation shall be made by the said corporation at its own expense. uggme or consume- Sec. 4, That this Act shall be null and void if actual construction ' of the bridge herein authorized be not commenced within one year and completed within three years from the date of approval hereof.
