Whereas an Agreement between the United States of America. and Gr—:;t¤;;g£g¤¤ with Great Britain extending, for a further period of five years, the arbi— {,{·¤;¤¤£*>;g- $60 tration convention concluded between them on April 4, 1908, was i i _ i concluded and signed by their respective Plenipotentiaries at Washington on the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, the original of which Agreement is word for word as follows: Agreement extending the duration of the Arbitration Uonvention of April 4, 1908. The President of the United States of America and His Majesty Contracting Powers the King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas, Emperor of India, being desirous of extending the period of five years during which the Arbitration Convention concluded between them on April 4, 1908, is to remain in force, which eriod is about to expire, have authorized the undersigned, to wit: Jennings Bryan, Secretary of State of P1¤¤¤r><>¢¤¤¤¤ri¤¤. the United States, and Sir Cecil Spring-Rice, His Britannic Ma`esty’s Ambassador Extraordinary and P enipotentiary to the United States, to conclude the following articles: A1z·rrcL1¤: I. The present Axment shall be ratified by the President of the m§¤§°¤¤¤¤° °'¤·*i¤¤=`·· United States of rica, by and with the advice and consent of the ' Senate thereof, and by His Britannic Majesty, and it shall_ become effective upon the date of the exchange of ratifications, which shall take place at Washington as soon as possible.
