_ A PROCLAMATION §,°“°°“°‘ N““°”°* WHEREAS, certain historic aborigm' al ruins situated upon “»»‘3»“?·€i?fs.N‘“°‘ public mas of the Unilte-gl states, within the sam Fe National orest, in the State of New Mexico, are of unusual ethnologic, scientific and educational interest, and it appears that the public interests would be promoted by reserving these relics of a vanished people, with as much land as may be necessary for the proper protection thereof, as a National Monument; _,§t;g¤;,;°M¤¤¤m¤¢· Now, therefore, I, WOODROW WILSON, President of the United

of the Act of Cow approved June 8, 1906, entitled “An Act for the Preservation of erican Antiq_uities" do proclaim that there are hereby reserved from appropriation and, use of all kinds under all of the public land laws, subject to all dprior valid adverse claims, and set apart as a National Monument, the tracts of land, in the State of New Mexico, shown as the Bandelier National Monument on the dialgigam forming a part hereof. _ Fx? F• N¤¤¤¤¤¥ e reservation made by this proclamation is not intended to use {tamu. prevent the use of the lands for forest purposes under the proclamation establishing) the Santa Fe National crest. A PROCLAMATION u¤l`i§`fii°$ii¤If3gi?i·£?ifi: WHEREAS the Natural Bridges National Monument, embracing "*°°¤“"°- three extraordinary natural bri ges together with forty acres o Vol. ss, p.21s:s. land around each bridge, was created by proclamation of the President, dated April 16, 1908, and . WHEREAS at the time this monument was created nothing was known of the location and character of the ppehistoric ruins in the vicinity of the bridges, nor of the location of the bridges and the pre- ‘ histone cave springs, also hereby reserved, with reference to the ubl1c surve , the same being man miles from surveyed land, and) WHEZEEAS, the three several, tracts embraced within this monument reservation have been resurveyed and relocated with reference to the recently established corner of the public land surveys, to the end that their location has been definitely fixed.
