[Pri J3; 25;;} 104] Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the _ _ United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary B:;.QfS}?mH°°'y of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to m*§§,§,;Qeg’g9?n§gbQe°_§f redeem, in favor of William Henry Bo ce, senior, of Ansonville, ness. ‘ North Carolina, 4% pir centum United States Treasury certificates of indebtedness num red 7378 and 7379, in the denomination of $1,000 each, and 3371, in the denomination of $500, series TM—1924, issued March 15, 1923, matured March 15, 1924, with interest at the rate of 4% per centum per annum from March 15, 1923, to March 15, 1924, without presentation of said certificates of indebtedness or the coupons representing interest thereon from March 15, 1923, to March 15, 1924, which are alleged to have been lost, stolen, or destroyed: Provided, That the said certificates shall not have been %2,',;,,_ previously presented for payment, and that no payment shall be made hereunder for any coupons which shall have been reviously presented and paid: Provided éarther, That the saidp William I“°°“"°”b°°°° Henry Boyce, senior, shall first e in the Treasury Department a bond in the penal sum of double the amount of the certificates and the interest which had accrued thereon when the principal became due and payable, in such form and with such securities as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury, to indemnify and save harmless the United States from any loss on account of the lost, stolen, or destroyed certificates of indebtedness herein described: Eu dm Provzkled further, That this bill shall not take effect until September °°m° ' 15, .1924, which is six months after the maturity of the certificates.
