CHAP. 272 .-An Act Authorizing the erection of a sanitary fireproof hospital [Public, No . 780 .] at the Nat ional Home for Disab led Volunteer Soldie rs at Dayton, Ohio . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Dayton, Ohio' Construction of
United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Board f ire .hospitalatVol- of Manag ers of th e Nat iona l Hom e for Dis abled Volu nteer Sol diers unteer Soldiers' Home at, authorized . be, and it is hereby, authorized and directed to cause to be erected at the central branch of said home at Dayton, Ohio, on land now owned by the United States, a sanitary fireproof hospital of a capacity for five hundred beds . Such hospital shall include all the necessary buildings with the appropriate mechanical equipment, including roads and trackage facilities leading thereto, for the accom- modation of patients, and storage, laundry, and necessary furniture equipment, and accessories, as may be approved by the Board of Managers of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers . SEC . 2 . That in addition to the persons now by law entitled to the privileges of treatment in this hospital when constructed there shall be admitted and treated honorably discharged nurses (female) who have served with the armed forces of the United States in any war and who are disabled by diseases or wounds and by reason of such disability are either temporarily or permanently incapacitated from earning a living. SEC . 3. That in carrying the foregoing authorization into effect the Board of Managers of the National Home for Disabled Volun- teer Soldiers is hereby authorized to enter into contracts for the con- struction of the plant, or to purchase materials in the open market or ot herwis e, and to em ploy l aborer s and m echani cs for the c onstru c- tion of the plant complete at a limit of cost not to exceed $1,500,000 . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That there be, and hereby is, authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Potash deposits. CHAP. 271 .-An Act To amend the Act entitled "An Act for the retirement of employees in the classified civil service, and for other purposes," approved July 3, 1926 . Be it enacted b y the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Act entitled "An Act for the retirement of employees in the classified civil service, and for other purposes," approved July 3, 1926, is hereby amended by adding a fourth paragraph to section 2 of said Act, as f ollows " In all cases where an employee otherwise eligible for continuance has been retained beyond retirement age without prior authority the Civ il Ser vice C ommiss ion ma y issu e cert ificate of co ntinua nce le gal- izing the service of such employee and authorizing his further con- tinuance as provided in paragraph 1 of this section, upon being satis- fied that the retention was due to erroneous or incomplete records of age or service or to faulty administration on the part of the depart- ment or office concerned and not to any attempt or desire by the employee to deceive for the purpose of defeating any provision of this Act."
