CHs . 651, 652. 1928 . suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near Stony Island, Wayne County, State of Michigan, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906, subject to the conditi ons an d limi tation s cont ained in this Act, and su bject to the approval of the proper authorities in the Dominion of Canada . SEC . 2 . There is hereby conferred upon the Detroit River Canadian Bridge Company, its successors and assigns, all such rights and powers to en ter up on lan ds and to ac quire, condem n, occ upy, p ossess , and use real estate and other property in the State of Michigan needed for t he loc ation, const ructio n, oper ation, and m ainten ance o f such bridge and its approaches as are possessed by railroad corpo- rations for railroad purposes or by bridge corporations for bridge purposes in the State of Michigan, upon making just compensation therefor, to be ascertained and paid according to the laws of such State, and the proceedings therefor shall be the same as in the conde mnati on or exp ropri ation of prope rty f or pu blic purp oses in such State. SEC . 3 . The said Detroit River Canadian Bridge Company, its succes sors a nd ass igns, is her eby au thorize d to f ix and charg e toll s for transit over such bridge in accordance with any laws of the State of Michigan applicable thereto, and the rates of toll so fixed shall be the legal rates until chang ed by t he Sec retary of Wa r unde r the authority contained in the Act of March 23, 1906 . SEC . 4. The right to sell, assign, transfer, and mortgae all the rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this Act is hereby' granted to the Detroit River Canadian Bridge Company, its successors and assigns, and any corporation to which or any person to whom such rights, powers, and privileges may be sold, assigned, or transferred, or who shall acquire the same by mortgage foreclosure or otherwise, is hereby authorized and empowered to exercise the same as fully as though confe rred h erein direct ly upo n such corpor ation or per son . [Public, No . 450 .] Be it enacted by the Senate and House o f Representatives o f the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the north- west quarter section 12, township 30 north, range 19 east, Montana meridian, is hereby withdrawn from all forms of entry under the public land laws of the United States, for the purpose of preserving the sit e of t he bat tle be tween Nez Pe rces In dians under Chief Joseph and the command of Nelson A . Miles . SEC . 2 . That the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the State of Montana, or Blaine County, Montana, or citizens of Montana, or either or any of them, for the care and upkeep of the herein-described lands .
