1219 Stationery : For stationery for the Treasury Department and its several bureaus and offices, and field services thereof, including tags, labels, and in dex cards, printed in the cou rse of manufacture, pack- ing boxes and other materials necessary for shipping stationery supplies, and cost of transportation of stationery supplies purchased free on board point of shipment and of such supplies shipped from Washington to field offices, $404,200 . General Supply Committee : For personal services in the District of Columbia not exceeding $126,360 ; necessary expenses, including two two and one-half ton trucks, office supplies and materials, main- tenan ce of motor t rucks, telegr ams, telepho ne service, t raveling expenses, office equipment, fuel, light , electric current, and other necessary expenses for carrying into effect regulations governing the t ransfer and d isposition of supplies an d unusable Go vernment materials, supplies, and equipment in the District of Columbia ; in all, $137,360 . Repairs to typewriting machines (except bookkeeping and billing machines) in the Government service in the District of Columbia may be made at cost by the General Supply Committee, payment there for to be eff ected by tran sfer and cou nterwarrant, charging the proper appropriation and crediting the appropriation "Salaries and expenses, General Supply Committee." No part of any money appropriated by this or any other Act shall be used during the fiscal year 1932 for the purchase of any sta ndard typ ewriting machine s, excep t bookkee ping and billing machines, at a price in excess of the following for models with carriages which will accommodate paper of the following widths, to wit : Ten inches (correspondence models), $70 ; twelve inches, $75 ; fourt een inches, $ 77 .5 0 ; sixteen inches, $82 .50 ; eighteen inches, "87 .50 ; twenty inche s, $94 ; twenty-two inches, $95 ; twenty-four inches, $97.50 ; twenty-six inches, $103 .50 ; twenty-eight inches, $104 ; thirty inches, $105 ; thirty-two inches, $107.50 ; or, for standard type- writing machines distinctively quiet in operation, the maximum prices shall be as follows for models with carriages which will ac- commodate paper of the following widths, to wit : Ten inches, $87 .50 ; twelve inches, $90 .54 ; fourteen inches, $93 .34 ; eighteen inches, $96 .26 : Provided, That standard typewriting machines dis- tinctively quiet in operation purchased during such fiscal year by any such department, establishment, or municipal government shall only be purchased on the written order of the head thereof . All purchases of typewriting machines during the fiscal year 1932 by executive departments and independ ent establish ments for use in the District of Columbia or in the field, except as hereinafter provided, shall be made from the surplus machines in the stock of th e Genera l Supply Committe e . If the G eneral Su pply Com mittee is una ble to furnish serviceable ma chines to any such service of the Government, it shall furnish unserviceable machines, if available, at current exchange prices, and such machines shall then be applied by the service of the Government receiving them as part payment for new machines from commercial sources in accordance with the prices fixed in the preceding paragraph . And in selling typewriting machines to the various services the General Supply Committee may a ccept an equa l number of u nserviceable machines as p art payment thereon at the exchange prices quoted in the current general schedule of supplies .
