S . C ., Supp . V, title 18, sees . 753c, 753d), to be expe d under the direction and upon the written Contracteanthorized. order of the Attorney General, by contract or purchase of material and hire of labor and services and utilization of labor of United States prisoners, as the Attorney General may direct, $500 , to remain available until expended ; and the Attorney General may contract with such suitable person or firm as he may select for the work of preparing plans drawings, designs, specifications, and esti- mates for remodeling and construction of the necessary buildings . Prison camps : For the construction and repair of buildings at Constructio n, main- tenance, etc,

prison camps, the purchase and installation of machinery and equip- ment, and all necessary expenses incident thereto, and for the main- tenance of Un ited S tates prison ers at prison camps , incl uding the maintenance, alteration, repair, and operation of a motor-propelled passenger-carrying bus, to be expended so as to give the maximum amount of employment to prisoners, $800,000 : Provided, That reim- bursements from this appropriation made to the War or other depart . ments for supplies or subsistence shall be at the net contract or invoice price notwithstanding the provisions of any other Act . National Training School for Boys, Washington, District of Columbia : For the National Training School for Boys, Washington, District of Columbia, including not to exceed $120,000 for sal ari es and wages of all officers and employees, $248,000 . Fo r constru ction, re pairs, an d alterat ions of buildings , includi ng the pur chase and in stalla tion o f mach inery a nd equ ipment , and all expenses incident thereto, to be expended so as to give the maximum amount of employment to inmates of the institution, $76,000 . Probation system, United States courts : For salaries and expenses of probation officers, as authorized by the Act entitled "An Act to amend the Act of March 4, 1925, chapter 521, and for other pur- poses," approved June 6, 1930 (U. S. C. Supp. V, title 18, sec. 7 26), $415,000 : Provided, That not to exceed 70,000 of this appropriation may be expended for travel and subsistence : Provided further, That no part of the appropriation herein made shall be used to pay any probation officer a salary in excess of $2,600 per annum : Provided further, That no part of this or any other appropriation shall be used to defray the salary or expenses of any probation officer who does not comply w ith the o fficial o rders, re gulation s, and pr obation s tandards promulgated by the Attorney General . Support of prisoners : For support of United States prisoners, in non-Federal institutions and in the Territory of Alaska, including necessary clothing and medical aid, discharge gratuities provided by law and transportation to place of conviction or place of bona fide residenc e in the United St ates, or such oth er place within th e United States as may be authorized by the Attorney General ; and including rent, repair, alteration, and maintenance of buildings and the main- tenance of prisoners therein, occupied under authority of sections 4 and 5 of the Act of May 14, 1930 (U. S. C., Supp. V, title 18, sec. 696) ; support of prisoners becoming insane during imprisonment, and wh o cont inue i nsane after expira tion of sente nce, w ho hav e no friends to whom they can be sent i shipping remains of deceased prison ers to their frien ds or relati ves in the Un ited S tates, and interment of deceased prisoners whose remains are unclaimed
