[Public, No. 31.] Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the project for the improvement of the Willamette River between Oregon City and Portl and, Oregon , aut horiz ed by the R iver and H arbor Xct a pprov ed July 3, 19,30, is hereby modified in accordance with the recommenda- tion of the Chief of Engineers in the report submitted in House Document Numbered 748, Seventy-first Congress, third session . of, aut hori zed . trict, of Brazoria County, Texas, as principal and the National Surety Company as surety, to insure the payment of the sum of 4861,000 to such amount as in his opinion wi ll cover any further contribution which may be required from the said Brazos River Har- bor Navigation District in connection with the project for improve- ment of Freeport Harbor, Texas, authorized by the River and Harbor Act of March 3, 1925 : Provided, That whenever the Secretary of War is satisfied that the said project has been completed and the works have become so s tabilized that no furthe r expenditures will be necessary other than normal maintenance, he may cancel said bond and release the said principal and surety fro m any obligation thereunder . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary M Chip pewa Ind ia na, of the Interior is authorized and directed to withdraw from the Payme nt to en rolled Tre asur y so much as may be _nec ess ary of the principal fund on members of, author . deposit to the credit of the Chippewa Indians in the State of Minne- sota, under section 7 of the Act entitled "An Act for the_ relief and civilization of the Chippewa Indians in the State of Minnesota," approved January 14, 1889, as amended, and to make therefrom payment of $25 to each enrolled Chippewa Indian of Minnesota, under such regulations as such Secretary shall prescribe . No pay- ment shall be made under this Act until the Chippewa Indians of Ind 1w ifi a gtion, etc., by Minnesota shall, in such manner as such Secretary shall prescribe, have accepted such payments and ratified the provisions of this Act . Payments exempt The money paid to th e Ind ians under this Act s hall n ot be subj ect fr om liens, etc. to any lien or claim of whatever nature against any of said Indians .
