A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS it appears that the public interest would be promoted by Wbite BaDda Nation· including the lands hereinafter described within a national monument aJ==t,N.Mex. for the preservation of the white sands and additional features of scenic, scientific, and educational interest; NI Now, THEREFORE, I, HERBERT HOOVER, President of the United e8tati:::l.monument States of America, by virtue of the-- .POwer in me vested by see. 2 of the act of Congress entitled"AN ACT For the preservation of American antiquities," ~Pj>roved June 8, 1906 (34 Stat. 225), do proclaim and ~~18.~.~p~iG. establish the White Sands National Monument and that, subject to all valid existing rights, the following-described lands in New Mexico Dtscriptlon. be, and the same are hereby, included within the said national monument: NEW MEXICO PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN Tps. 17S., Rs.5,6,and7E., all.
