Limitation on visit- ing wards of, outside the District, etc. CO URT OF A PPEA LS Salaries : For the chief justice and four associate justices, and all other officers and employees of the court ; reporting service ; and not to exceed $950 for necessary expenditures in the conduct of the clerk's office ; in all, $83,500 : Provided, That the reports of the court shall not be sold for a price exceeding that approved by the court and for not more than $6 .50 per volume . Care, etc , of build- Building : For personal services for care and protection of the Court of Appeals Building, including one mechanician, under the Proviso . direction of the Architect of the Capitol, $7,089 : Provided, That the clerk of the c ourt of a ppeals sh all be th e custodi an of sai d build- ing, under the direction and supervision of the justices of said court . For mops, brooms, buckets, disinfectants, removal of refuse, elec- trical su pplies, b ooks, and all othe r necessa ry and in cidental expenses not otherwise provided for, $660 . MISCELLANEOUS Support of convicts : Fo r sup port , mai ntena nce, and trans porta - tion of co nvict s tr ansfe rred from Dist rict of Co lumb ia ; ex penses of shipping remains of deceased convicts to their homes in the United States, and expenses of interment of unclaimed remains of deceased convicts ; expenses incurred in identifying and pursuing escaped convicts and rewards for their recapture ; and discharge gratuities provided by law ; to be expended under the direction of the Attorney General, $45,000 . Wri ts of lun acy : For ex penses atten ding t he exe cution of wri ts de lunatico inquirendo and commitments ther eunder in all cases of indigent insane persons committed or sou ght to be committed to Saint Eliz abeth s Ho spita l by orde r of the e xecut ive autho rity of the District of Columbia under the provisions of existing law, and expenses of commitments to the District Training School, including personal services, $7,957 . Miscellaneous court expenses : For such miscellaneous expenses as may be authorized by the Attorney General for the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia and its officers, including the furnishing and collecting of evidence where the United States is or may be a party in interest, and including such expenses other than for per- sonal services as may be authorized by the Attorney General for the Court of Appeals, District of Columbia, $35,000 . Printing and binding : For printing and binding for the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia, except records and briefs in cases in which the United States is a party, $6,200 . PUB LIC WELF ARE BOARD OF PUBLIC WE LF ARE For personal services, $96,000 . DIVISION OF CHILD WELFARE Administration : For administrative expenses, including placing and visiting children, city directory, purchase of books of reference and periodicals not exceeding $50, and all office and sundry expenses, $3,500, and no part of the money herein appropriated shall be used for the purpose of visiting any ward of the Board of Public Welfare placed outside the District of Columbia and the States of Virginia and Maryla nd ; and a ward placed outside said District and the States of Virginia and Maryland shall be visited not less than once
