To provide for the further development of vocational education in the several [Public, No . 245 .1

States and Territories . Be it e nacted by the Senate and House of Repres entatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That for the pur- pose of providing for the further development of vocational educa- tion in the several States and Territories there is hereby authorized to be appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1935, the sum of $3,000,000 ; for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1936, the sum of $3,0 00,0 00 ; and for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1937, the sum of $3,0 00,0 00 . One third of this sum each year shall be allotted to the States and Territories in the proportion that their farm popula- tion bears to the total farm population of the United States, exclusive of the insular possessions, according to the United States census last preceding the end of the fiscal year in which any such allotment is to be made, and shall be used for the salaries of teachers, super- visors, and directors of agricultural subjects in such States and Terri- tories . One third of the sum appropriated for each fiscal year shall be allotted to the States and Territories in the proportion that their rural population bears to the total rural population of the United States, exclusive of the insular possessions, according to the United States census last preceding the end of the fiscal year in which any such allotment is to be made, and shall be used for the salaries of teachers, supervisors, and directors of home-economics subjects in Nonfarm population . such States and Territories . SEC . 2 . For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act there is hereby authorized to be appropriated to the Department of the Interior, Office of Education, for vocational education, for each of the fiscal years ending June 30, 1935, June 30, 1936, and June 30, 1937, the sum of $100,000, to be expended for the same purposes and in the sane manner as provided in section 7 of the Act approved February 23, 1917, as amended October 6, 1917 . SEC. 3. The Secretary of the Treasury, upon the certification of the United States Commissioner of Education, shall pay, in equal semiannual payments, on the 1st day of July and January of each Vocational educa- tion.
