SEWERAGE SYSTEM, FORT MONROE, VIRGINIA For repair and maintenance of wharf and apron of wharf, includ- ing all necessary labor and material therefor, fuel for waiting rooms ; water, brooms, and shovels, $20,280 ; for one-third of said sum, to be supplied by the United States, $6,760 . 60. For rakes, shovels, and brooms ; repairs to roadway, pavements, macadam, and asphalt block ; repairs to street crossings ; repairs to street drains, and labor for cleaning roads, $8,469 ; for two-thirds of said sum, to be supplied by the United States, $5,646 . For waste, oil, motor and pump repairs, sewer pipe, cement, brick, stone, supplies, and personal services, $6,690 ; for two-thirds of said sum, to be supplied by the United States, $4,460 . Hospitals. For construction and repair of hospitals at military posts already et Construction, repair, established and occupied, including all expenditures for construction and repairs required at the Army and Navy Hospital at Hot Springs, Arkansas, and for the construction and repair of general hospitals and exp enses incident thereto, and for additions needed to meet the require ments of increased garrisons, and for temporary hospitals in s tanding c amps and cantonme nts ; for the alter ation of p erman ent buildin gs at posts for use as hospitals, construction and repair of e1c cmporaryhospitals, temporary hospital buildings at permanent posts, construction and repair of temporary general hospitals, rental or purchase of grounds, and rental and alteration of buildings for use for hospital purposes in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, including necessary tem- p orary quar ters for h ospit al pe rsonn el, o utbui lding s, he ating and laundry apparatus, plumbing, water and sewers, and electric work, cooking apparatus, and roads and walks for the same, $494,709 . ACQUISITION OF LAND For the acquisition of land in the vicinity of West Point, New York, as authorized by the Act approved March 3, 1931 (46 Stat . 1491), or, in lieu thereof, for such extensions and alterations as may be necessary in the existing pipe line and intake employed in supply- ing water to the United States Military Academy, $431,000, to remain available until expended : Provided, That no obligation to acquire any parcel of land shall be incurred until the Comptroller General shall have approved the proposed purchase price as being reasona ble .
