To provide for the completion of the publication of the writings of George [Pub . Res ., No. 6.]
Washington . Resolved by the Senat e and House of Representatives of the United Mates of America in Congress assembled, That for the printing and binding at the Government Printing Office of the remaining volumes of the definitive edition of the writings of George Washington, to be printed, bound, and distributed as provided by section 1 of the Act approved March 10, 1932 (47 Stat . 63), there is hereby authorized to be appropriated such sum as the Public Printer estimates will be required for such printing and binding . SEC. 2 . Th e form er Dir ector o f the George Washin gton B icen- tennial Commission, without receiving any compensation therefor, shall (a) complete the preparation of the manuscript for, and provide for the printing and binding of, the remaining unpublished volumes of such writings ; (b) distribute that portion of the undis- tributed sets of such writings required by law to be distributed by the Commission ; (c) dispose, in such manner as in his judgment will best serve the purposes for which the George Washington Bicen- tennial Commission was created, of su ch other educat ional material possessed by the Commission as is not required by law to be dis- tributed in a definite way ; (d) employ assistants (not to exceed five in number) in the same manner as the Commission was authorized to procure personnel ; and (e) incur obligations for such miscella- neous ex penses as may b e necessary an d/or incident t o the adminis- tration of this joint r esolution, and for the printi ng and binding authorized by section 1 . SEC. 3 . For personal services, including services rendered since December 31, 1934, trav el and necessa ry miscellaneou s expenses, in conn ection with the pu rposes of thi s join t reso lution , there is he reby appropriated, from any money in the Treasury not otherwise appro- priated, $35,000 . SEC . 4 . Payments authorized under the provisions of this joint resoluti on shall be mad e by the Divis ion of Disburse ment, Treasury Departme nt . SEC. 5 .
