Maintenance . in add ition , $51 7,850 of th e app ropria tion "Reser ve Of ficer s' Tra in- ing Corps, 1937", which is hereby reappropriated, and of the total amou nt here by made ava ila ble $40 0,00 0 s hall be ava ila ble imme di- ately : Provided, That the Secretary of War is authorized to issue, without charge, in lieu of purchase, for the use of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, so many horses now belonging to the Reg- ular Army as he may consider desirable : Provided, That uniforms and other equipment or material issued to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps in accordance with law shall be furnished from sur- plus or reserve stocks of the War Department without payment from this appropriation, except for actual expense incurred in the manu- facture or issue : Provided further, That in no case shall the amount paid from this appropriation for uniforms, equipment, or material furnished to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps from stocks under the control of the War Department be in excess of the price current at the time the issue is made : Provided further, That none of the funds appropriated in this Act shall be used for the organization or main ten ance of an addi tio nal num ber of moun ted , mo tor tra nspo rt, or tank units in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps in excess of the number in existence on January 1, 1928 : Provided further, That none of the funds appropriated in this Act shall be available for any expense on account of any student in Air Corps, Dental Corps, or Veterinary units not a member of such units on May 5, 1932, but such stoppage of further enrollments shall not interfere with the maintenance of existing units : Provided further, That none of the funds appropriated elsewhere in this Act, except for printing and binding and pay and allowances of officers and enlisted men of the Regular Army, shall be used for expenses in connection with the Reser ve Of ficer s' Tra ining Corps . MILITARY SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES For the procurement and issue a s provided in section 55c of the Act approved June 4, 1920 (U . S . C., title 10, sec . 1180), and in section 1225, Revised Statutes, as amended, under such regulations as may be prescribed by the Secretary of War, to schools and col- leges, other than those provided for in section 40 of the Act above referred to, of such arms, tentage, and equipment, and of ammuni- tion, targets, and target materials, including the transporting of same, and the overhauling and repair of articles issued, as the Secretary of War shall deem necessary for proper military training in said schools and colleges, $8,900 . CITIZENS' MILITARY TRAINING CAMPS For furnishin g, at the expense of the United States, to warrant officers, enlisted men, and civilians attending training camps main- tained under the provisions of section 47d of the National Defense Act of June 3, 1916, as amended (U. S. C., title 10, sec. 442), uni- forms, including altering, fitting, washing, and cleaning when neces- sary, subsistence, or subsistence allowances and transportation, or transportation allowances, as prescribed in said section 47d, as amended ; for such expenditures as are authorized by said section 47d as may be necessary for the establishment and maintenance of said camps, including recruiting and advertising therefor, and the cost of maintenance, repair, and operation of passenger-carrying vehicles ; for expenses incident to the use, including upkeep and depreciation costs, of supplies, equipment, and materiel furnished in accordance with law from stocks under the control of the War
