Law books, etc. For the purchase of books and for periodicals for the law library, including payment for legal society publications and for freight, commissions, and all other expenses incidental to the acquisition of Availability. law books, $70,000, to continue available during the fiscal year 1940. BOOKS FOR ADULT BLIND To enable the Librarian of Congress to carry out the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to provide books for the adult blind", approved March 3, 1931 (2 U. S . C . 135a), as amended, $275,000, including not exceeding $500 for necessary traveling expenses con- nected with such service and for expenses of attendance at meetings when incurred on the written authority and direction of the Librarian. PRINTING AND BINDING For miscellaneous printing and binding for the Library of Con- g.ress, including the Copyright Office, and the binding, rebinding, and repairing of library books, and for the Library Building, $258,500 For the publication of the Catalogue of Title Entries of the Copy- right Office and the decisions of the United States courts involving copyright, $50,000. For the printing of catalog cards, $155,000. CONTINGENT EXPENSES OF THE LIBRARY For miscellaneous and contingent expenses, stationery, office sup- plies, stock, and materials directly purchased, miscellaneous travel- ing expenses, postage, transportation, incidental expenses connected with the administration of the Library and Copyright Office, includ- ing not exceeding $500 for expenses of attendance at meetings when incurred on the written authority and direction of the Librarian, $9,000. For paper, chemicals, and miscellaneous supplies necessary for the operation of the photoduplicating machines of the Library and the making of photoduplicate prints, $5,000. 394 Union catalogues.
