[CHAPTER 273] JOINT RESOLUTION Making an additional appropriation for grants to States for unemployment com- pensation administration, Social Security Board, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1938. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appro- priated, the sum of $3,500,000 as an additional amount for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1938, for grants to States for unemployment compensation administration, as authorized in title III of the Social Security Act, approved August 14, 1935, and under the limitations in the appropriation for this purpose in the Independent Offices Appropriation Act, 1938. Approved, May 25, 1938. [CHAPTER 274] AN ACT To authorize the purchase and distribution of products of the fishing industry. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, out of any funds available to the Federal Surplus Commodities Corporation, not to exceed a sum equal to the difference between $1,000,000 and the sum expended by such Corporation in carrying out the provisions of the joint resolution entitled "Joint resolution to make funds avail- able to carry out the provisions of existing law authorizing the pur- chase and distribution of products of the fishing industry", approved April 12, 1937 may be used by such Corporation for the purpose of diverting surplus fish (including shellfish) and the products thereof from the normal channels of trade and commerce by acquiring them and providing for their distribution through Federal, State, and pri- vate relief channels. The provisions of law relating to the acquisi- tion of materials or supplies for the United States shall not apply to the acquisition of commodities under this Act. Approved, May 25, 1938. [Public, No. 543] Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That for the pur- pose of further carrying into effect the provisions of the Foreign Service Buildings Act, 1926, as amended, there is authorized to be appropriated, in addition to the amount authorized by such Act, an amount not to exceed $5,000,000, of which not more than $1,000,000 shall be appropriated for any one year. Sums appropriated pursuant to this Act shall be available for the purposes and be subject to the Foreign Service Buildings Act, 1926.
