That expenses incurred by agents of the United States in carrying out the discussions herein authorized shall be paid from regular appropriations made to the department of the Government of the United States by which the agent incurring them is employed. Approved, August 9, 1939. [CHAPTER 613] AN ACT To establish the Benjamin Harrison Commission to formulate plans for the construction of a permanent memorial to the memory of Benjamin Harrison, twenty-third President of the United States. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That there is hereby established a commission, to be known as the Benjamin Harrison Memorial Commission, and to be composed of five commis- sioners, to be appointed by the President of the United States. Such commission shall consider and formulate plans for establish- ment of a permanent memorial in the city of Indianapolis, to the said Benjamin Harrison, twenty-third President of the United States. SEC. 2 . Such commission may, in its discretion, accept from any source, public or private, money or property to be used for the purpose of making surveys and investigations, formulaingg, pre- parg, and considering plans for the construction of such memorial, or other expenses incurred, or to be incurred, in carrying out the provisions of this joint resolution. SEC. 3 . The commission shall report its recommendations to Con- gress as soon as practicable. SEC. 4 . There is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $2,500, which shall be available to defray the necessary expenses of the commission for the performance of their duties herein prescribed. Disbursement of the sum herein authorized shall be made on vouchers approved by the chairman of the commission. Approved, August 9, 1939. [CHAPTER 614] AN ACT To amend the Act approved June 26, 1935, entitled "An Act to create a national memorial military park at and in the vicinity of Kennesaw Mountain in the State of Georgia, and for other purposes." Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That section 5 of the Act approved June 26, 1935, entitled "An Act to create a national memorial military park at and in the vicinity of Kennesaw Mountain in the State of Georgia, and for other purposes", be, and the same is hereby, amended by striking the period at the end thereof and insert- ing a colon and the following proviso: "Provided, That if, after the expenditure of the funds herein authorized, the Secretary of the Interior shall determine that the acquisition of additional lands is necessary in order to perfect the symmetry of the park area or to acquire locations of historic interest adjacent to the park area already acquired upon which fortifications or entrenchments are located which are likely to deteriorate or be destroyed under private owner- ship, he is authorized to acquire additional lands for such purposes." 1274 [53 STAT.
