For the pay and allowances of officers and members of the Metro- politan Police force, in accordance with the Act entitled "An Act to fix the salaries of the Metropolitan Police force, the United States Park Police force, and the Fire Department of the District of Colum- D.C. Codei4-10 8 , bia" (43 Stat. 174 -175), as amended by the Act of July 1, 1930 (46 Stat. 839 -841), including one captain, who shall be property clerk, and the present acting sergeant in charge of police automobiles, who shall have the rank and pay of a sergeant, $3,099,503, including the employment of not to exceed four detectives in the salary grade of captain to be appointed by the Board of Commissioners after a special examination conducted by the Civil Service Commission in criminal law, practical police work, and crime detection. For personal services, $167,500, including not to exceed $1,265 for the salary of one part-time physician to be paid at the rate of $3,800 per annum. [55 STAT.
