PERU-RECIPROCAL TRADE-MAY 7 , 1942 WHEREAS such modifications of existing duties and other import restrictions and such continuance of existing customs and excise treatment as are set forth and provided for in the said Agreement, the Schedules thereunto annexed and the said notes, are required and appropriate to carry out the said Agreement; WHEREAS it, is provided in Article XVI of the said Agreement that it shall enter into full force on the thirtieth day following proclamation thereof by the President of the United States of America and the President of the Republic of Peru, or should the proclamations be issued on different days, on the thirtieth day following the date of the later in time of such proclamations; AND WHEREAS the said Agreement was proclaimed by the President of the Republic of Peru on June 29, 1942; Now, THEREFORE, be it known that I, Franklin D. Roosevelt, President of the United States of America, acting under the authority conferred by the said section 350(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, do hereby proclaim the said Agreement, including the said Schedules and notes, to the end that the same and every part thereof may be observed and fulfilled by the United States of America and all persons subject to the jurisdiction thereof on and after July 29, 1942, the thirtieth day following June 29, 1942, the date of this my proc- lamation of the said Agreement.
