EXCHANGE OF NOTES The American Charged'Affaires ad interim to the British PrimeMinister No. 2536. SIR, Future discussion of disposition of re- serve. EMBASSY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA London, March 26, 1943. I have the honor to refer to Article 14 of the Agreement regarding Industrial Diamonds signed this day between the Governments of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Canada. and the United States of America, which provides for the termination of the arrangements for maintaining and operating the United Nations reserve of industrial diamonds, and to the agreement between the Ministry of Supply and the diamond producing companies which gives the companies a right to the return to the United Kingdom of the diamonds remaining in the reserve at that time. When that time arrives it may be found desirable, with the con- currence of the companies, to make other arrangements for the dis- position of the diamonds in the reserve, and it is, therefore, the desire of the Government of the United States that provision should be made for discussions on this matter to take place between the Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of the United States within three months before the termination of the agreed arrangements. If the Government of the United Kingdom concurs in this proposal and will be prepared to arrange for its representation at such discus- sions, which might best be held in London where contact can be 942
