Pursuant to instructions which I have received, I beg to advise Your Excellency that the Government of Colombia, in accordance with the provisions of article 3, chapter I of the above-mentioned contract, would like the latter to be extended for one year from November 23, 1943. I most respectfully request Your Excellency to inform me whether the Government of the United States of America accepts the said extension. It is noted from Your Excellency's communication of July 23 that your Government desires to continue the existing Agreement for a period of one year, the renewal to commence upon the termination of the present Agreement on November 23, 1943.
