Approved June 23, 1945. 6 [CHAPTER 194] AN ACT To amend an Act entitled "An Act authorizing the temporary appointment or advancement of certain personnel of the Navy and Marine Corps, and for other purposes", approved July 24, 1941, as amended, and for other purposes. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the UnitedStates of America in Congress assembled, That the Act entitled "An Act authorizing the temporary appointment or advancement of certain personnel of the Navy and Marine Corps, and for other pur- poses", approved July 24, 1941 (55 Stat. 603), as amended (U. S . C., 1940 edition, Supp. IV, title 34, sec. 350 and the following), is hereby amended by adding the following new subsection (c) to section 2 of said Act: tidegular Nave, mpr- "(c) Officers on the retired list of the Regular Navy may, while raryappointmentsetc. on active duty, be temporarily appointed to ranks or grades in a different branch or corps of the Regular Navy without loss of or prejudice to any rights, benefits, privileges, and gratuities enjoyed by them by virtue of their former status." tiNav offi ersvmpo- SEC. 2 . AN ACT Authorizing the Secretary of the Interior to convey certain lands on the Gila reclamation project, Arizona, to the University of Arizona. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a patent to issue conveying the west half southwest quarter, section 28, township 9 south, range 23 west, Gila and Salt River meridian, Arizona, to the board of regents of the University of Arizona, for use by the University as an agricultural experimental farm; but in said patent there shall be reserved to the United States all oil, coal, and other mineral deposits within said lands and the right to prospect for, mine, and remove the same and a perpetual right-of- way for ditches, canals, laterals, transmission lines, telephone lines, and roadway constructed by or under authority of the United States.
