59 STAT.] CANADA-DOUBLE TAXATION-JUNE 8, 1944 AND WHEREAS the said convention has been ratified on both parts, chRatfication ex and the instruments of ratification of the two Governments were ex- changed at Washington on the sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred forty-five; AND WHEREAS it is provided in Article XIV of the said convention that the convention shall be deemed to have come into effect on the fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred forty-one; Now, THEREFORE, be it known that I, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Presi- dent of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim and make public the said convention to the end that the same and every article and clause thereof may be observed and fulfilled with good faith by the United States of America, and by the citizens of the United States of America and all other persons subject to the jurisdiction thereof, the said convention being deemed to have come into effect on the four- teenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred forty-one . IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States of America to be affixed.
