Muy 9, l828· Be it enacted, (fw., That William Gentry, of Saline county, in the state of Missouri be, and he is hereby, authorized to relinquish to the May reliuquish United States the n0rth·west quarter of section twenty-tive, in township :,°;:$'°a;f3':;n_ fifty, in range twenty, west, of the fifth principal meridian, in Missouri; te, anoihm-ju and to enter, instead thereof, the north-east quarter of the same section, lieu ¤h<>r¤¤£ if it shall remain unsold when he shall make his application; or if it shall have been· sold, then he may enter any other quarter section, in the same land district, that shall be liable to entry at private sale, instead of the said north—east quarter; for which he has heretofore paid the United States, in consequence of the mistake of the Clerk in the Register’s office, at Franklin, in inserting the said north-west quarter in the entry. Dupuis, be, and the same is hereby, confirmed, and that a patent for the same shall issue to the said John B. Dupuis, upon the presentation of a plat and certificate of the survey thereof, at the proper office: Provided, however, That it shall operate as a relinquishment proviso_ only on the part of the United States.
