[CHAPTER 785] AN ACT To authorize the War Shipping Administration and the Maritime Commission to make available certain surplus property to certain maritime academies. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the War Ship- ping Administration and the Maritime Commission are authorized to make available or transfer to any State or municipality maintaining a marine school or nautical branch in accordance with the Act of July 29, 1941 (Public Law 191, Seventy-seventh Congress, 55 Stat. 607), excess or surplus material, supplies, and equipment for use in con- nection with the teaching and training of cadet-midshipmen, at such ports or other localities as may be designated by such State, without charge except for transportation and delivery of such material, sup- plies, or equipment. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congressassembled, That section 7 of the Act of May 10, 1943 (57 Stat. 81), as amended by the Act of July 31, 1945 (59 Stat. 511; 50 U. S. C., App. 753f), be, and it is hereby, amended by inserting after the comma following the citation "(9 F.R. 10613)" the words as amended by Executive Order 9692 of February 5, 1946 (11 F. R.1421)". [CHAPTER 787] AN ACT To waive certain restrictions of the Hawaiian Organic Act, relating to land exchanges, for the acquisition of certain lands at Hilo, Hawaii Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the provisions of section 73 () of the Hawaiian Organic Act, prohibiting exchange by which the Territory of Hawaii shall convey lands exceeding either forty acres in area or $,000 in value, and the like provisions contained in section 4533 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii 1945, shall not apply to any exchanges made for the acquisition by the Territory of land at Hilo, islandof Hawaii, within the area bounded on the north by the sea, on the south by Kamehameha Avenue, on the east by Wailoa River, and on the west by Wailuku River.
