July 18, 1946 GENTLEMEN: I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of your letter of today in the following terms: "In connection with the paragraph in the letters exchanged today dealing with looted gold, we wish to confirm to you our understand- ing that, in view of the evidence already produced and checked, no further claim will be presented to Sweden by the Governments signatory to the Paris Reparation Agreement or their banks of issue with regard to any gold acquired by Sweden from Germany and transferred to third countries prior to June 1, 1945."
