CHAPTER 717

AN ACT For the relief of Faustino Achaval Aldecoa and his wife, Carmen Achaval (nee Cortabitarte).

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assewMed, That, for the purposes of the Immigration and Nationality Act, Faustino Achaval Aldecoa and his wife, Carmen Achaval (nee Cortabitarte), shall be held and considered to have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence as of the date of the enactment of this Act, upon payment of the required visa fees. Upon the granting of permanent residence to such aliens as provided for in this Act, the Secretary of State shall instruct the proper quota-control officer to deduct the required numbers from the appropriate quota or quotas for the first year that such quota or quotas are available. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, for the purposes of the Immigration and Nationality Act, Nadeem Tannous and Mrs. Jamile Tannous shall be held and considered to have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence as of the date of the enactment of this Act, upon payment of the required visa fees. CHAPTER 719

AN ACT For the relief of Joseph H. Hedmark, Junior.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, Joseph H. Hedmark, Junior, of Chicago, Illinois, an employee of the Air Force, is relieved of all liability to refund to the United States the sum of $1,023.73, representing overpayments of salary paid to him during the period from March 1951, through August 1953, as a result of acrniinistrative error. Approved August 13, 1954.
