SEC. 2. Such conveyance shall be subject to the terms and conditions provided for the sale of public lands to a nonprofit corporation or nonprofit association under the Act of June 4, 1954 (Public L#a^ 387, Eighty-third Congress, second session): Prcyvided^ That the conveyance hereby authorized shall not include any land covered by a valid existing right initiated under the public land laws, or a valid possessory right based upon section 8 of the Act of May 17, 1884 (23 Stat. 24), section 14 of the Act of March 3, 1891 (26 Stat. 1095), or section 27 of the Act of June 6, 1900 (31 Stat. 321; 48 U.S.C., sec. 356): Provided further, That notwithstanding any of the provisions of this Act, the Secretary shall convey the lands to the Turnagain Arm Community Club of Anchorage, Alaska, only if the organization pays the price fixed by the Secretary within five years after notification by the Secretary of the price. CHAPTER 1099

AN ACT To authorize the sale of certain land in Alaska to the Baptist Mid-Missions, an Ohio nonprofit corporation, for use as a church site.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Baptist Mid-Missions, an Ohio nonprofit corporation, of Cleveland, Ohio, is hereby authorized for a period of one year from and after the effective date of this Act to apply for the purchase of, and the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized and directed to convey to the Baptist Mid-Missions, for use as a church site, the following-described land situated in Alaska: Lot twelve of section 12, township 5 north, range 9 west, of the Seward meridian, in accordance with the plat thereof accepted on December 2, 1953, containing six and forty-four onehundredths acres. SEC. 2.
