CHAPTER 1137

Private Law 932 AN ACT For the relief of Harold J. Davis.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That sections 15 to 20, inclusive, of the Act entitled "An Act to provide compensation for employees of the United States suffering injuries while in the performance of their duties, and for other purposes", approved September 7, 1916, as amended (5 U.S.C. 765-769), are hereby waived in favor of Harold J. Davis for compensation for disability alleged to have been sustained by him on or about the 3d or 4th day of June 1942, while serving in line of duty under orders of the United States Navy as fire chief on the United States naval air station, Dutch Harbor, Alaska, during enemy air attacks. SEC. 2. That no benefits except hospital and medical expenses actually incurred shall accrue prior to the enactment of this Act. Claim for compensation under this Act may be filed any time within one year after the enactment of this Act. Approved August 31, 1954. Private Law 933

CHAPTER 1138

AN ACT For the relief of Staff Sergeant Frank C. Maxwell.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the suni of $1,103.00 to Staif Sergeant Frank C. Maxwell, of 3535th Maintenance Squadron, Mather Air Force Base, California, in full settlement of all claims against the United States for losses sustained by him on account of the destruction by fire of his household goods and ersonal effects at Vliittier, Alaska, on June 17, 1953, for which he as not heretofore been compensated: Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved August 31, 1954.

AN ACT To provide for the conveyance of certain land in the State of Maryland to the Disney-Bell Post 66 of The American Legion, Bowie, Maryland.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Interior is authorized and directed to convey to the DisneyBell Post 66 of The American Legion, Bowie, Maryland, all right, title, and interest of the United States, except as retained under section 2 of this Act, to all of the land approximating six acres more or less in
