care and protection, there is hereby authorized to be appropriated for each fiscal year a sum sufficient to carry out the purposes of this title." (b) Subsection (a) of section 402 of such Act is amended by striking 42 USC 602. out "and" before clause (11) thereof, and by striking out the period at the end of such subsection and inserting in lieu thereof a semicolon and the following new clause: "and (12) provide a description of the services (if any) which the State agency makes available to maintain and strengthen family life for children, including a description of the steps taken to assure, in the provision of such services, maximum utilization of other agencies providing similar or related services." (c)(1) Clauses (1) and (2) of section 403(a) of such Act are r?oTt?pif'&S2, each amended b j striking out ", which shall be used exclusively as aid 8S4. to dependent children,". (2) Clause (3) of such section 403(a) is amended by striking out "which amount shall be used for paying the costs of administering the State plan or for aid to dependent children, or both, and for no other purpose" and inserting in lieu thereof "including services which are provided by the staff of the State agency (or of the local agency administering the State plan in the political subdivision), to relatives with whom such children (applying for or receiving such aid) are living, in order to help such relatives attain self-support or self-care, or which are provided to maintain and strengthen family life for such children". SEC. 313. (a) The first sentence of section 1001 of the Social Security ^2 USC 1201. Act is amended to read: "For the purpose of enabling each State to furnish financial assistance, as far as practicable under the conditions in such State, to needy individuals who are blind and of encouraging each State, as far as practicable under such conditions, to help such individuals attain self-support or self-care, there is hereby authorized to be appropriated for each fiscal year a sum sufficient to carry out the purposes of this title." (b) Subsection (a) of section 1002 of such Act is amended by ^2 USC 1202. striking out "and" before clause (12) thereof, and by striking out the period at the end of such subsection and inserting in lieu thereof a semicolon and the following new clause: "and (13) provide a description of the services (if any) which the State agency makes available to applicants for and recipients of aid to the blind to help them attain self-support or self-care, including a description of the steps taken to assure, in the provision of such services, maximum utilization of other agencies providing similar or related services." (c)(1) Clauses (1) and (2) of section 1003(a) of such Act are ^"'•'gf^ *' each amended by striking o u t ", which shall be used exclusively as aid ^ ^' to the blind,". SEC. 314.
